karma is a...

So the other night Julian had a HUGE sweet potato number two explosion on Abdiel. I was laughing so hard I almost peed my pants. Well yesterday was a rough day... I got peed on and then pooped on (worse then Abdiel) and Abdiel was there to witness it and laugh at me.

Just as Justin Timberlake says "what goes around comes back around!"

Making baby food has been fun but the diaper changing has not been fun!

baking for baby

Julian received this super cool gift basket (thank you Scira family). I refer to it as the baby making food starter kit. This could not have come at a better time. It was full of fun stuff to get us started on making baby food and trying out baby food. There was tupperwear for freezing, icecube trays for freezing, ramkins for cooking/reheating, bibs that easily wipe down, spoons, zebra bowl and plate, baby food pouches, baby food pouch spoons (as shown in previous post), on the go place mats, teething biscuits, and fruit feeders.
I also received this amazing book from my good friend/co-worker Andrea. I decided to give it a try and enjoy a glass (or 2) of wine while doing so.
The first food I made was peas. I do not think that Julian likes them but we are sticking to them for the whole four days. The next batch of food I made was sweet potatoes. We will be trying those next. Today I made a batch of carrots and remembered to take photos.

    freezing
So far I am enjoying making food and the new adventure. It has been a lot easier than I expected it to be. Plus it is fun to watch Julian eat and make funny faces.

Here is a website that I have also been referencing for making baby food:

4th of July Weekend

Julian had his 6th month check up. He is in the 50% percentile for weight and the 75% percentile for height (he did not get the height from me.) He did really good and did not even cry for his shots.

It was the weekend of many firsts. Julian's first time eating food (besides rice cereal). Our doctor recommend that we start with a green vegetable so we picked peas. I steamed some up and put them in the food processor (I will post soon about my baby food making). Julian was excited to start eating because he likes eating rice cereal but I am not sure if he likes peas. I tasted them and I don't blame him... they are nasty.
He went swimming for the first time.
He started pushing up to crawl and is scooting/army crawling.
I took some 4of July photos of him.
We also opened Julian a bank account. Never too early to start saving $

Products I Love {at the moment}

1.  AngelCare 3-in-1 Video Monitor - This monitor is amazing. It is by far my favorite thing. It was a little pricey but totally worth the cost in my eyes. It is a video monitor and a movement monitor (it monitors baby's breathing). I like being able to peak in on Julian and see how he is doing and I like knowing that he is breathing. It gives me a piece of mind and helps me sleep at night.
2.  Conair Sound Machine - We had another sound machine in the beginning and it had an automatic timer. The longest that machine would stay on was 45 min. Every time it turned off Julian would start to stir and sometimes wake up. I found myself jumping up every time to turn it back on. This machine is great it has ten different sounds, it stays on, and also has a timer (even though we never use the timer). Plus this machine is inexpensive (less then $20).

3.  Graco Bumper and Jumper - Julian loves to jump and after a while my arms get sore from holding him. He loves going in this and jumping. I also call it slam dancing!

4.  Breast milk storage bags - I have tired other bags and these ones seem to work best for me. I like that  they are double zip and that they have a spout for pouring.

5.  Camilia Teething Relief - This is a homeopathic and vegan liquid for teething. It has worked really well while Julian has been teething. I did not want to give him drugs all the time especially because he did not have a fever so this has been a nice alternative.

6.  Plum Dispensing Spoon - Okay I have not used this yet but I cannot wait to try it. This attaches to baby food pouches for when you are on the go. We are getting ready to start Julian on food so I am super excited to try it.

7.  Desitin Maximum Strength - I have tired the other brands and this one seems to work best for my little man. With the weather getting warming and teething this has come in handy.
