Makeup Board

I saw on pinterest a while back a magnet makeup board. I decided that I needed one and in Zebra!
So that was today's project... Abdiel bought me a piece of sheet metal from home depot. I ordered a frame off of amazon. Everything else I had on hand. First I started by mod podging the sheet metal and attaching zebra wrapping paper. I then attached magnets to my makeup with hot glue (I had these laying around because the plastic kept breaking. I knew they would come in handy some day). Lastly I added the frame.

Confession

So I have a confession to make... Since having Julian I have not yet bathed him. This is something that Abdiel does, I refer to it as father son bonding time. I don't know if I was afraid or nervous but today was the big day. Julian woke up soaking wet up to his neck with pee. I tired whipping him down with baby wipes but I knew that was not going to cut it. Then he hook a nice long nap. While he was napping I heard him farting over the monitor.
When he woke up he more then farted. I had feed him corn and it was stuck everywhere. I stripped him down and went into his closet to grab his bath toys. When in his closet I heard what sounded like water running -- nope it was Julian peeing all over the carpet. Thus, Julian had his first bath from Mom and in the big bath tub.

status update

things have been crazy busy with me going back to work. granted i am only working part time but it is still quiet the production. i am working back at my old job part time (2 days a week in the office and 1 day from home) in down town san diego. i head down to work on tuesday mornings (5:30am) and drop julian off with my in-laws (thank goodness for their help). after work i pick up my little man and head to my parents house for our weekly slumber party. we wake up wednesday morning head back to the in-laws and then i go into work. after work i usually hang out with my in-laws until the traffic calms down. i have a really nice set up with work, daycare, and my room and boarding. i really appreciate everyone and all of their help but it is exhausting. i usually spend mondays prep-ing and thursdays recovering. i have had a couple forgetful moments, i think the worst was when i forgot parts to my breast pump and had to wait for the store to open to go buy them... my boobs felt like they were going to burst {that might be TMI but it is the truth}. i keep trying to remain positive and assure myself that this will get better. i need to make myself checklists and come up with ways to make this process easier.   it has been nice going back to work; the social aspect is great, using my brain has been great, and making money has been extra great! but this is why i have been MIA from my blog.
here are some photos from recent fun things...

6 Months

Where did the last month go? Things have been moving at warp speed. I feel like this was a big milestone month. Julian is sitting all by himself, he can go from laying down into a sitting position. He is arming crawling everywhere, he has taken two full crawls and can crawl in reverse but he has not gotten the hang of going forward yet. He is pulling up onto things. We officially had to drop his crib because we almost had an incident... (I had asked Abdiel a week prior but I don't think he took me serious.) Abdiel was letting me sleep in on Saturday morning. When I went downstairs we started chatting and Julian was up in his room napping. Abdiel heard a Julian noise and checked the monitor... all that I heard was "OH SH!T!" and his running up the stairs. I guess Mr. Julian and pulled up and was leaning over the railings. It is time to start the baby proofing. He is talking, babbling, and screaming more. I love hearing his sweet baby noises in the morning.

So far food has been going really well. He has had sweat potatoes, carrots, broccoli, peas, apples, cantaloupe, banana, green beans, prunes, and avocado (which I think is his favorite).
